FM Synthesis on DOS

The AdLib Editor, is a tool for creating and editing AdLib instruments. With a terminal UI in DOS, the AdLib Editor allows you to fine-tune FM synthesis parameters, load and save .INS
and .SBI
files, and experiment with real-time sound editing. This Editor will continue to be developed and will get a few more updates stay tuned!
Features
- Load and save **AdLib instrument files** (`*.INS` and `*.SBI`).
- Modify FM synthesis parameters, including:
- Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release (ADSR) Envelopes
- Tremolo and Vibrato effects
- Waveforms and Feedback and more
- Real-time audio preview.
- User-friendly interface supporting mouse control.
Download
- Extract the downloaded archive to your desired directory.
- Run the
start.bat
file to start the editor.
Requirements
- DOS or a DOSBox environment.
- Minimum 512 KB of RAM ^^.
- I included DOSBox in the download file!
Usage
- Start the editor by running
start.bat
. - Use
F3
to open an instrument file orF2
to save. - Adjust parameters via the sliders and controls.
- Press
Alt-P
to open the Piano. - Save your edited instruments for later use.
