How do I get GCubeSDK?

Steam is the only way. There is no other download. Open the Steam store page.

Do I need to know programming?

Yes. You write C++. There is no visual node graph for game logic like in UnrealEngine. If you know three.js, the class names will look familiar.

Can I mod existing GameCube games?

No! GCubeSDK is for new homebrew games.

Does Steam include a compiler?

Yes. Steam copies the compiler and other needed tools with GCubeSDK. You do not install devkitPPC by yourself.

Does Steam include Dolphin?

No. Steam does not ship Dolphin. GCubeSDK howerever will offer assistence to download Dolphin. You can set any other hardware accurate emulator you like.

Does Steam include apploader.img, boot.bin, bi2.bin, and fst.bin?

No. GCubeSDK cannot ship those files. You need them only when you build an ISO. See Sys files.

What emulator do I use?

Use any hardware accurate emulator. Dolphin is highly suggested.

Do I need a real GameCube?

No. You can test and run your projects in Dolphin. The DOL and ISO are compatible with real hardware if you have a load method.

Can I import models from Blender, Max, Maya?

Yes. Export GLTF / GLB or OBJ / MTL. Keep textures small. See Assets.

Which systems does Steam support?

Windows and Linux. See the Steam store page for the system list.

Do you used Doxygen or Sphinx for the documentation?

No! I wrote my own documentation generator called Pharox. It generate static HTML pages from C++ inline comments for the reference.
